2 Step Pro V2 - Soft Breach limit

A soft breach is a rule violation that does not immediately result in the loss of the account.

Instead, a soft breach is recorded on the account, and the trader may usually continue trading as long as the maximum number of soft breaches has not been reached.

For 2 Step Pro V2 accounts, traders are allowed a maximum of 8 soft breaches.

Once the account reaches the maximum number of allowed soft breaches, the account may be breached, restricted, or become ineligible to continue.

What Counts as a Soft Breach?

A soft breach may occur when a trader violates a rule that requires account protection or compliance action, but does not immediately trigger a hard breach.

This may include:

  • EquityShield being triggered on one symbol

  • EquityShield being triggered across combined open positions

  • Stop loss not being active

  • overriding the max lot size

EquityShield Soft Breaches

EquityShield soft breaches are the most common type of soft breach.

Individual Symbol EquityShield

If floating loss on one symbol reaches 2% of the starting balance, EquityShield may automatically close all open trades on that symbol.

This is considered a soft breach.

Combined Open P&L EquityShield

If combined floating loss across all open positions reaches 2.5% of the starting balance, EquityShield may automatically close all open trades across all symbols.

This is also considered a soft breach.

What Happens After a Soft Breach?

After a soft breach:

  • The violation is recorded on the account

  • The affected trades may be closed automatically

  • The trader may usually continue trading

  • The account must still remain within the Daily Loss Limit and Maximum Loss Limit

A soft breach does not reset the account and does not remove existing risk limits.

Soft Breach vs Hard Breach

Breach Type

Result

Soft Breach

Violation recorded, trader may usually continue trading

Hard Breach

Account is failed, terminated, or no longer eligible to continue

Soft breaches are designed to help protect the account before a more serious violation occurs.
