What are partial closes?
A partial close happens when a trader closes a portion of an open position while leaving the remaining portions running. Example: you open a 5-lot trade, close 2 lots today, and close the remaining 3 lots tomorrow. Although the platform logs these as multiple “closures,” they all come from one original trade and count as one trade toward your consistency or ESS.
How do partial closes affect the Consistency Score and ESS?
Partial closes do not count as multiple trades for the purposes of your:
Consistency Score
Equity Stability Score (ESS)
To maintain fair and accurate scoring, all partial closes from the same initial position are grouped together and treated as ONE trade. Importantly, This trade will only be counted on the date when the final portion of the position is closed. This prevents partial closes from artificially boosting your trading activity or consistency metrics.
Why do you group partial closes into one trade?
Because partial closes can make a single position look like several separate trades, which can distort both the ESS and Consistency Score. Grouping ensures your score reflects real and consistent trading behavior.
Why does my dashboard show a different score?
Your trader dashboard provides a guideline score, not the final verified score.
Dashboard percentages may look correct, but if the system counted each partial close separately, the displayed score is not the official calculation.
Top One Trader performs an internal ESS/Consistency review where:
All partial closes are grouped
The final close date is used
The true trade structure is assessed
This final review determines whether you truly met ESS or Consistency requirements.
What happens if my ESS or Consistency Score was met due to partial closes?
If our deeper review shows that your score was met mainly because of partial closes:
Your account may be reset, meaning a new account of the same size and platform as your purchase will be given to you (giving you a chance to trade again and meet the score correctly)
No payout will be issued for that cycle
If this behavior is repeated or appears intentional:
We may close the account and terminate the trading agreement as outlined in our Terms & Conditions.
Are partial closes allowed in general?
Yes, partial closes are allowed from a trading perspective.
However:
They do not create additional trades
They do not help with ESS or Consistency
They cannot be used to manipulate scoring metrics
The final score always reflects grouped partial closes, not the individual slices shown on the dashboard.
